High imide-modified methylated melamine resins are partially methoxylated and highly alkylated melamine resins that cure rapidly at 120-150 degrees Celsius without the need for an external acid catalyst and react with polymers containing hydroxyl, carboxyl and amide groups. The resin is highly reactive. It also has a high tendency to self-condense, which results in very good hardness, gloss, chemical resistance and outdoor durability of the associated film products.
